First Giveaway!!!

I've got two very helpful, beautiful hardcover books to giveaway!! The first is called A Place for Everything. It has tons of great organizational ideas and lots of pictures. The second giveaway is Organizing Made Easy with over 300 ideas! The following tips are from Organizing Made Easy:

1. Clear the Clutter
A. If you don't need it, don't keep it
B. Weigh the cost of replacing an item against the amount of space it takes up
C. Two years is too long in the fashion world
2. Splurge on storage products
3. Organize everything!

Now, if you want to be in the drawing for these giveaways, you have to do something for me!! All you need to do is leave a comment including a great organization idea. It could be to help organize STUFF or TIME. The more ideas you leave, the more times your name goes in the drawing:)

Time will be up at 8:00pm on Saturday, October 29th Eastern Standard Time. That is only about 4 days away!!!

  1. Take this with a grain of salt, since I'm far from an organizational expert. My tip: Organize your most annoying area. It will make you feel good and may create some forward momentum. I found a way to organize the shoes in our entryway. It feels much better to walk in the door now and has me looking for other areas I could easily tackle.

  2. This is from a friend who couldn't figure out the comment area:)

Buy a cheap silverware divider and use it to organize all your Girly hair accessories. Like clips, bows, rubberbands, etc. That way they are all in one place!

  4. From Jenny:

Go through your child's toys and clothes before Christmas and birthdays. Sort them to find broken throwaways, items to donate, and keepers. Then you have a good idea of toys or clothes they don't need for those holidays.

  5. I like it when people enter my giveaways, so I'll enter yours =)

I have a basket by the door for each of the kids shoes. I can't say we use it perfectly, but it helps not have shoes all over everywhere and it keeps them separate from each other and it's near the door so it's right where we need them!

I'm totally not organized at all since having kids, so I can definitely use all the help I can get!

Store things in clear bags or containers so you can always see what is in there. I also like to use hanging shoe organizers for smaller items. I have mine on a closet wall. It doesn't take up much room and it's a good place for scarves or other items and it's handy to reach.
